The Stratford Recreation Association Social Committee plans social events throughout the summer dedicated to providing opportunities for members to build relationships within the community. The events for each fiscal year are selected and budgeted for by the Social Committee. The SRA Social Committee is currently planning some great events for this summer. Events have been designed to preserve the long-standing traditions that many families have enjoyed for years, while adding some new events and themes.
With a new season comes new ideas. If you are interested in organizing a social event for the SRA community, please reach out to the president, vice-president, or social chair. We have had members share they are interested in family nights, pickleball tournaments, poker nights, Scrabble, Pinochle, Bunco, and movie nights. All are amazing ideas -- we would LOVE members to step up and host something that will continue to build our community!

Dust off those lederhosen and start practicing your stein curls - it's the 4th Annual SRA Oktoberfest! This family event features delicious Bavarian-inspired food, exciting games (with prizes!), a bounce castle, and a Biergarten featuring Port City brews. The event is free to attend for SRA Members and $15 for guests. Biergarten tickets (21+) are available for $20 member/$30 non-member. Viel Spaß!

PAVILION RENTALS FOR PRIVATE FUNCTIONS
Starting Saturday, May 25, 2024, you can request half of the pavilion area to be reserved for a two-hour block by SRA members for private parties during normal pool hours. All parties require a pavilion rental. The pool will not be closed to other members during your party. Like always, the grills can be used on a first come/first served basis; glass is not permitted. No helium balloons inside the pavilion, or any other items that may inadvertently cause costly damage to the facility. The Shark Shack is NOT accessible during rentals, including the use of refrigerators. THE PAVILION MAY NOT BE RESERVED FOR ANY PART OF MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND, THE 4TH OF JULY, LABOR DAY WEEKEND, OR DURING TEAM OR SRA SOCIAL EVENTS.
The cost to reserve the space is $50 (non-refundable). All non-member guests require a guest pass. The host will be expected to have enough guest passes in their MemberSplash account to cover entrance to the facility for non-members of their party. Members are responsible for their guests following the rules & regulations of SRA at all times. Requests for pavilion rental with an expected attendance of a certain size (25+ people) require pre-approval by the SRA Board, as to ensure adequate lifeguard staff will be scheduled. Requests are typically responded to within one week of the application being submitted. REQUESTS WILL BE PROCESSED ON A FIRST COME/FIRST SERVED BASIS AND RESERVATIONS ARE NOT CONFIRMED UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED A CONFIRMATION EMAIL AND YOUR EVENT APPEARS ON THE SRA CALENDAR. Please check the SRA calendar for availability before submitting your request. The Office Manager will not check for requests until the first work day, Saturday, May 25th. NOTE: Please be sure to check your spam, promotions, and other email folders for an email from "SRA-Office@StratfordRec.org" as this is how you will receive confirmation.
