It's a great time to be a Stratford Shark!
Since 1968, SRA has participated in the NVSL Dive League with a dive program for all ages and backgrounds from beginner to advanced. We focus on safely learning dives, proper body mechanics, technique, fundamentals, and we have fun in the process. Dive is considered a “crossover” sport – those who do gymnastics, dance, basketball, and other sports tend to do well at dive. The dive team practices Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 10:00 am based on age group. Coaches determine who is ready for the meets and who will have the best opportunity for the team to be successful.
Not a member? Not a problem.
Pursuant to an NVSL rule change in 2016, SRA will allow children of non-member families to join the dive team. The families must reside within SRA boundaries and be members of another NVSL pool without a dive team. In addition, at least one parent of each family will be required to volunteer at each home meet. No other SRA privileges will be extended to the diver or the diver's family.
Private Lessons allow for personal instruction with a certified guard who will instruct one individual for a 30-minute block of time mutually agreed upon by the instructor and member. Please pick up a contact sheet from the front office when the season begins. Email our the office at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions.
Diving Sharks (pre-compete) dive program bridges the gap between dive lessons and dive team. It is designed to introduce children to the sport of competitive diving in a non-competitive environment. Participants receive instruction in the competitive dives (forward dive, back dive, and jumps) and instruction on board hurdles. This is a great opportunity to receive small group instruction from experienced dive coaches. Ages 4 and up.
