CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

UPDATE as of JUNE 8, 2020

Happy June SRA Shareholders,

This email is just a brief update to you. First, thanks to those of you who completed our small survey last week. We had an incredible response rate which showed an irrefutable desire by our membership to open the pool. Thus, we are moving forward with our plan to open in Phase II, which seems to be in sight. We will announce an opening date soon as it is dependent upon when Fairfax County enters Phase II and when our staff has been trained on our new protocols.

We have received the official Phase II guidance from both the Governor’s office and the Virginia Department of Health. Important to note, the guidance does not allow for recreational swim, or what we’d usually refer to as Open Swim. Also, the baby pool is not permitted to open during Phase II. Per the guidance, pools are limited to structured activity with physical distancing including lap swimming, diving, and other “exercise.” We are hard at work thinking creatively about your summer experience, but also responsibly as to comply with the guidance and maintain the health and safety of our staff and members.

What you can expect when SRA opens: using your MemberSplash account to reserve blocks of time, an orderly and distanced check-in process, frequent cleaning, BYO seating, lap swimming, lap walking, and diving. We will also keep the pavilion, playground, waterslide, and grilling area closed. As with everything this spring and summer, we will be reevaluating frequently.

You may begin to see some of our amazing staff members tidying up the pool grounds over the next two weekends. You may also begin to see signage and demarcation to help with our risk mitigation and social distancing measures.

We will continue to be in touch with you once we build out the schedules, reservation process, health and safety protocols, and maybe even introduce some fun exercise opportunities this summer. Until then, enjoy the sunshine and be well.
