SRA has a busy Social Calendar this year! Special thanks to Leslie Maniglia and Yvonne Dacey, who are the Social Chairpersons this year. All activities will be held as scheduled except when posted on the pool bulletin board when necessary.

Ice Cream Social

Saturday, May 28th 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

This family event is open to everyone and free of charge. It is on Saturday of the Memorial Day Weekend and is sure to please the sweet tooth. Hope you can make it.

Salsa Night

Friday, June 25th 7:30 pm – 11:00 pm

Cost: $20 per person

Adults Only, Guests Welcome
Come join your friends and neighbors in our annual fiesta! There will be several drink choices and Mexican food from Roseina’s. Attire: simple Mexican!

School’s Out Celebration

Friday, June 24th 12:30-2:30 pm

Come to the pool on the last day of school to celebrate school being out. The pool opens at 12 noon that day. Bring a picnic; we’ll supply ice cream for dessert. Floats will be allowed in the main pool until 2:30 pm.

Family Nights

Effective June 28th – August 18th, every Tuesday & Thursday, 6:30-8 PM, families are invited to bring floats, tubes and toys in the main pool. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Hot dogs, hamburgers and sodas will be sold. These are fun nights that we hope will be enjoyed by all. Lap lanes will be open for lap swimmers. Adult volunteers do the cooking: if there are no volunteers, Family Night will be cancelled so sign in the Office up to cook! There will be no Family Nights on Dive Meet nights.

4th of July

This will be the 17th year in a row that we will celebrate with hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, chips and sodas. Prepare to have a good time with the moon bounce, dunk tank and Sno-Cones. There are also games in the pool, whipped cream eating contests, and don’t forget the biggest splash competition. We hope that if you are in town for the 4th of July, you come to the pool with friends and relatives. Remember you need to buy your tickets by July 1st so we can make sure we have enough food.

Triathlon “Race for the Donuts”

Start training now - give it a “TRI” don’t miss out on the 2nd Annual “Race for the Donuts” Triathlon.
We will gather at the pool at 9:30 a.m. The event is limited to active members of the pool, and will not be open to guests. The registration for the event will be limited to 24 participants (two people to each swim lane and two waves of swimmers). The distances are a ½ mile swim, a 10-mile bike, and a 5K run. We will gather afterwards during adult swim for well-deserved refreshments and awards. Sign-up information and further specifics will be announced and posted at the pool. Steak and Crab Feast

Back by popular demand, the Steak and Crab Feast is a mainstay at SRA. Savor some of the best steak one can possibly eat - whole filets cooked to order from the grill direct to you. Not to be outdone, the crabs will be succulent and melt in your mouth. Are you hungry yet? Happy Hour with appetizers is a great way to start the evening. Mark your calendars now and buy that ticket. Don’t be left out of this event.

Sunday Morning – Adults Only (Age 18 and up)

11 am – 1 pm

Adults, here is your time to enjoy the pool by yourselves. Beginning Sunday, June 26th, 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. the pool is opened to adults only. Coffee, orange juice and donuts will be served. Come out and enjoy these mornings to read the paper, meet friends, chat and relax.

Teen Night

Junior and Senior High Schoolers

Back by popular demand, we will have a teen night during July. This was a huge success last year for junior high and high schoolers, with subs and live music. We are trying to organize this event with neighboring pools to become a community event. More information will be forthcoming.

The next Social Events require an admission ticket purchased in advance. They can be bought at the pool front office using the form available at the office, or at the Ice Cream Social on May 29th.

Fairwell to Summer Beach Party

But before the summer ends, SRA is going to throw a GREAT Beach Party so practice your Beach Boys songs (plan to bring your instruments), put on your Hawaiian shirt, ditch the shoes and join us in sending the season out in style!
